The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for anAssistant/Associate Professor, Exercise Science in the Department of Kinesiology for the Fall 2019 semester.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate courses based on their experience and expertise that complement the current strengths of the Department. Courses could include: Biomechanics, Exercise Testing & Prescription, Cardio-Conditioning (group exercise), Exercise Physiology, Motor Behavior, Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition, Exercise Epidemiology & Aging, Personal & Public Health, and/or Kinesiology.
The successful candidate will advise undergraduate students, develop and maintain scholarly productivity, and serve on departmental, school, and university committees.
Based on need, expertise, and ability to develop/deliver online courses, the successful candidate will also teach graduate courses.
In addition, leadership opportunity as coordinator of Exercise Science may be available.
As UNG is a multi-campus institution and the Department of Kinesiology has programs on both the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses, the candidate may be expected to instruct on both campuses based upon need.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
Doctoral degree in Kinesiology or closely related field (including but not limited to: Exercise Science, Health & Physical Education, Public Health, or related field).
Experience in a higher education kinesiology program preferred.
ACSM and/or NSCA preferred.
Preference given to candidates with higher education teaching experience, and a generalist willing to teach in a number of areas related to exercise science.
Applicants with a history of scholarship, strong research agenda, and a current peer-reviewed publication will be given preference.
Commitment to excellence in teaching and academic advising, collaborative curriculum development, active membership in relevant professional associations/organizations, and ability to work closely with faculty in related academic disciplines is expected.
